Norfolk is the retail center of Northeast Nebraska and home to a thriving industrial community. I believe that we have the opportunity to grow both of these sectors and bring good jobs to our community. Our strong Midwestern work ethic and quality workforce will be attractive to small and large businesses. As we strengthen our city through city improvements and collaboration, we will be a contender for new economic opportunities.

As we look to the future of Norfolk, it is important to listen to new ideas for growth and to develop a comprehensive economic development plan that includes the large industries, allows small business to grow, encourages entrepreneurship, and invests in finding new ways to think about old issues. With over 25 years of experience in a business that allows me the opportunity to meet with companies across the United States, I believe that I can provide the leadership necessary to create opportunities for Norfolk. As mayor I will:

• Lead Norfolk to become a contender for resources, jobs, and growth opportunities.


• Develop a comprehensive long-range economic development plan for the City of Norfolk by bringing all economic development groups to the table.
• Build partnerships with neighboring communities.
• Encourage active participation in statewide legislative issues and opportunities by city government, citizens, and businesses.
• Showcase Norfolk and the positive things it has to offer potential employers through a comprehensive marketing plan.


• Create a climate that supports business innovation.


• Promote entrepreneurship opportunities.
• Strengthen existing resources for small businesses such as the local SCORE chapter.


• Guide Norfolk to a more prominent position in Nebraska.
